Above and below the central oval, ornate acanthus scroll vignettes frame oval counters each bearing the numeral "5" within fine engine-turned lathe-work. The printer's imprint "Perkins Bacon & Co. Ld. London" appears in small text at the lower centre. The overall composition is characteristic of Perkins Bacon's mid-Victorian security engraving style. |
