Beschrijving keerzijde The full Barbados coat of arms occupies the central field, comprising a shield bearing two sugar cane stalks and a bearded fig tree, supported on the dexter side by a dolphin and on the sinister side by a pelican, both rendered in fine relief. Above the shield rests a helmet with mantling and a crest depicting an arm holding two crossed pieces of sugarcane. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto PRIDE AND INDUSTRY in raised Latin lettering. The country name BARBADOS arcs across the upper periphery, while the inscriptions 1/4 oz and Pt 999 appear in the lower left and lower right fields respectively, denoting the coin's platinum content and purity.

Aanvullende informatie

Barbados has issued flamingo-themed coinage since the 1970s, the bird having appeared on the country's coins long before this platinum incarnation. The 2020 platinum issue sits in a crowded modern bullion market where small Caribbean nations compete aggressively for collector premiums, typically through limited mintage runs and novel compositions. Whether this piece achieved meaningful secondary market traction depends heavily on certified population numbers, which remain sparse in major registry data.
