Not legal tender, never intended to be. Movie prop notes are produced under strict U.S. Secret Service guidelines that have evolved considerably since the 1990s, when studios were prosecuted for prop bills that too closely resembled genuine Federal Reserve Notes. The current rules require obvious visual differences — size alterations, missing security features, "MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY" or similar text — that make authentic theatrical prop dollars easy to identify on close inspection.
The 2013 date likely reflects either a film production run or a prop house manufacturing batch, not a government issue year.
