| Obverse description | Green on multicolour underprint, with a portrait vignette of Francisco de Oliveira Chamiço at left, the Portuguese Coat of Arms at lower centre, and the bank seal at right. The note is an overprint on P#32, with the denomination "CINCO ESCUDOS" applied over the earlier design. Inscriptions identify the issuing authority, the decree number 17.154, and the province of Cape Verde, with the date Lisbon, 1 January 1921. |

Ornate lathe-work corner pieces and symmetrical scroll devices fill the margins, with numeral "1" counters at left and right. The provincial payability inscription appears in a banner at the top, with the printer's imprint at the foot. |
