Reverse description The reverse presents a stylized oil palm tree (Elaeis guineensis) rising from the base of the coin, its fronds spreading prominently across the upper field. The denomination '5 F' is rendered in large characters flanking the trunk at mid-field, with the engraver's initials 'D.B.' inscribed at the base of the tree. The bilingual legend 'BANQUE CENTRALE' arcs along the upper periphery in French, while 'CENTRALE BANK' curves along the lower periphery in Dutch, each separated by a five-pointed star. The design is clean and modernist, characteristic of mid-twentieth century colonial coinage.
