| Obverse description | Central device features a cedar of Lebanon in high relief, its spreading branches rendered in fine detail against a smooth field. The Arabic legend دولة لبنان الكبير (State of Greater Lebanon) curves along the upper periphery in elegant script, while the Latin legend ETAT DU GRAND LIBAN arcs along the lower and lateral border. Two small floral or decorative ornaments flank the base of the cedar at either side. The overall design is clean and heraldic in character, reflecting the French Mandate-era artistic style of the Monnaie de Paris. |
