Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse, also in blue-grey intaglio, is dominated by the arms of the Nederlandse Antillen — a crowned heraldic shield supported by two lions with the motto 'JE MAINTIENDRAI' — set centrally over a fine rose-coloured guilloche underprint. Two large oval panels at left and right each bear the numeral '5', enclosed within elaborate scrollwork borders matching the lace guilloche frame running the full perimeter. The date '1960' and serial number appear twice in red at upper-left and lower-right.

Opmerkingen

The Curaçaosche Bank was the sole issuing authority for the Netherlands Antilles from 1828 until it was eventually superseded by the Bank van de Nederlandse Antillen in 1962, making this 1960 note one of the final issues under that institution's name. Joh. Enschedé en Zonen, the Haarlem security printer with roots going back to 1703, handled the full series — not unusual for Dutch colonial and associated territories, where Enschedé held a near-monopoly on official printing work throughout the mid-twentieth century.

The 1960 date places this squarely in the transitional period following the 1954 Charter for the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which reorganized Curaçao and the other islands from colonial possessions into constituent countries.
