| Obverse description | The central vignette presents an intaglio-printed Raggiana Bird of Paradise with wings spread, set against a circular guilloche underprint in shades of crimson and violet. A traditional decorated kundu drum is rendered horizontally across the lower centre, while the left field carries stylised Melanesian tribal motifs in multicolour underprint; a large ornate numeral "5" in purple occupies the upper-left corner and a matching decorative numeral anchors the right margin.
