正面描述 Circular note composed entirely of intricate guilloche lathe-work radiating from a central vignette bearing the numeral '5' in ornate script, enclosed within a decorative cartouche. The word 'KORONA' is inscribed in a curved banner across the lower portion of the central medallion. The entire design field is filled with dense, symmetrical engine-turned patterns incorporating stylized foliate and scroll motifs executed in dark ink on pale grey paper.

背面描述 Circular note with an elaborate guilloche underprint radiating outward in concentric layers of fine lathe-work from a central vignette bearing the Hungarian Royal coat of arms — the horizontally striped field and apostolic double cross on a green hill — rendered in detailed intaglio. The surrounding engine-turned pattern of interlocking scrolls and lace-like geometric rosettes fills the entire note surface, framed by a scalloped outer border.

备注

Hungary's postwar currency situation in 1920 was chaotic by any measure. The Austro-Hungarian Krone had collapsed in value alongside the empire itself, and the successor states were scrambling to establish independent monetary identities. This 5 Korona was issued by the Hungarian Royal Ministry of Finance — a state treasury note, not a central bank instrument — because Hungary's banking infrastructure had fractured along with its territory.

Pick 56A is distinguished from the closely related 56B by its serial number configuration. Forgeries of low-denomination Korona notes from this period circulated widely enough that the Ministry introduced verification measures on later printings.
