Opmerkingen

The P#10 series marked Lesotho's first significant redesign of its banknote family since the loti was introduced in 1980 at par with the South African rand — a peg that remains in place today and has defined the Central Bank's monetary policy options ever since. Thomas De La Rue's involvement goes back to the original 1979 issue, making this a continuous relationship spanning the kingdom's entire banknote history.

Sekhonyana's signature here is notable: he served as Lesotho's Minister of Finance under the military government of Major General Justin Lekhanya, which had seized power in January 1986 following the coup against Leabua Jonathan.
