| 背面描述 | A detailed panoramic view of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum (Zhongshan Ling) in Nanjing dominates the central field, depicted against a backdrop of rolling mountains rendered in low relief. The monumental stairway and ceremonial gate of the mausoleum are clearly delineated, conveying the architectural grandeur of the site. The denomination '伍圓' (Five Yuan) is inscribed in large Chinese characters across the lower field. The design is clean and uncluttered, with the architectural motif filling the majority of the coin's face. |

Taiwan's 5-dollar coin was introduced in 1965 as part of the New Taiwan Dollar currency system, itself a product of the 1949 monetary reform that replaced the catastrophically inflated Old Taiwan Dollar at a rate of 40,000 to one — a direct consequence of the hyperinflationary collapse that accompanied the Nationalist government's retreat from the mainland.
