Opmerkingen

Banco Dugand was a private Colombian regional bank based in Barranquilla, operating during the era of free banking that persisted in Colombia until the Banco de la República was established in 1923. The American Bank Note Company printed for dozens of Latin American clients during this period, and the Dugand plates follow their house style closely — which means the engraving quality is high, but distinguishing this issue visually from other ABNC Colombian regional work requires careful attention to overprints and serial formatting.

The bank did not survive long after Colombia's central banking reforms. Notes from this issuer are scarce simply because the institution's circulation window was narrow.
