Obverse description Oval portrait vignette of General Francisco de Paula Santander — labeled 'CORDOBA' at base — at left, with a seated allegorical female figure to the right in a classical composition set against a green guilloche underprint. The denomination numeral '5' appears in the upper-right and lower-right corners, with the serial number in red at upper-right and lower-left. Date '1° DE ENERO DE 1953' and place of issue 'BOGOTA COLOMBIA' are printed centrally below the main vignette, with two manuscript signatures above the imprint 'THOMAS DE LA RUE & COY. LTD. LONDRES.
