Reverse description The central vignette presents a scenic oval landscape view of the Hawkesbury River (known to the Dharug people as Deerubbun), framed by elaborate guilloche scrollwork and lathe-work ornamentation in deep blue. Tall denomination numerals "5" appear in bold relief at the left and right margins, flanking the central scene. The inscriptions "FIVE POUNDS" appear twice at the lower portion of the note, separated by a cross-hatched ornamental device.
