Military scrip issued by the NCO and Enlisted Men's Open Mess at the U.S. Army Strategic Communications Command facility in Tehran — one of the many American military support installations operating in Iran under the Pahlavi government's close alliance with Washington. These mess tokens circulated exclusively on-post, used to purchase food and drinks without introducing U.S. dollars or Iranian rials into an informal cash environment.

The date range spans the entire period from the USASTRATCOM's establishment through to the 1979 Islamic Revolution, when American military personnel were evacuated and the facility ceased to exist. Any surviving piece dates to that window by default.
