Opmerkingen

The Duchy of Warsaw was a French client state created by Napoleon after the Treaties of Tilsit in 1807, and its paper currency was always politically precarious — backed by a treasury perpetually strained by military obligations to the Grande Armée. By 1810, the duchy's finances were deteriorating under the costs of continuous mobilization, and these notes circulated in an economy that had little reason to trust them.

The Talar denomination reflects a deliberate alignment with the older Polish monetary tradition rather than the French system, a concession to local commercial habit. P#A14 is among the scarcer issues of the series; the duchy itself ceased to exist by 1815.
