The Banque du Mali has not issued paper currency since the country joined the West African Economic and Monetary Union and came under BCEAO authority in 1984. Mali uses the West African CFA franc. There is no authenticated 50,000 "Afrikanis" denomination, no issuer operating under the name "Banque du Mali" in 2025, and no designer named Franck Medina associated with any known West African note series.
