Opmerkingen

Uzbekistan's state security printer, GPO Davlat Belgisi, has produced the country's banknotes domestically since 1995 — a deliberate policy of in-house production that set Uzbekistan apart from many post-Soviet republics that continued to rely on foreign printers well into the 2000s. By 2021, the facility had decades of experience behind it, and the 50,000 soʻm denomination reflects the inflationary trajectory the soʻm has followed since its introduction in 1994, when it replaced the transitional coupon currency at 1,000 coupons to one soʻm.
