Venezuela's 50 Bolívares note belongs to the Bolívar Fuerte series, introduced in 2008 as part of a redenomination that lopped three zeros off the old bolívar — a direct response to inflation that had already rendered small denominations functionally useless. The Bolívar Fuerte itself then suffered the same fate, becoming worthless within a decade as hyperinflation accelerated past any rational monetary management.
The print run spanned multiple years, meaning date varieties exist across the series. Later-dated examples from the 2014–2015 window were often barely circulated before the denomination became economically insignificant.
