Bolivia's 1928 banking reform dissolved the old commercial note-issuing banks and consolidated currency authority under the newly chartered Banco Central de Bolivia — this note is among the first issues from that reorganization. The American Bank Note Company held longstanding contracts across Latin America during this period, and the Bolivian account was no exception.

The two signature combinations reflect sequential cashier appointments rather than separate printings — the plate stock was shared, with the signatory panel the only variable. Series letter ranges G-N and N-Z overlap at N, which occasionally produces attribution disputes for notes at that boundary.
