| 备注 |
The Banco de Trujillo was one of several regional private banks chartered in Peru during the 1870s and early 1880s under legislation that briefly encouraged note-issuing banks outside Lima. The 1879 outbreak of the War of the Pacific devastated that experiment — Chilean occupation of Peruvian territory and the near-total collapse of government finances brought most provincial banks to ruin within a few years of this note's issue date.
ABNC's involvement was typical for Latin American regional issuers of the period seeking to deter counterfeiting through intaglio work unavailable domestically. Whether significant quantities of this denomination actually reached circulation before the bank failed is unclear from surviving records.
