Obverse description The Dominican Republic national coat of arms, featuring a quartered shield supported by laurel and palm branches forming a wreath, is centrally displayed in the field. The shield bears a cross, an open Bible, and flags or lances in its quarters. Below the shield, a ribbon carries the national motto in three parts: DIOS, LIBERTAD, and PATRIA. The mint mark 'A' (Paris) appears at the bottom of the wreath. The circular legend REPUBLICA DOMINICANA runs along the upper rim, while the weight and fineness specifications GRAM · 2½ LEI · 835 are inscribed along the lower rim, separated by stars.
