Redonda is an uninhabited volcanic rock in the Eastern Caribbean, roughly one square kilometer, with no permanent population, no government infrastructure, and no monetary system. Its claim to issuing coinage rests entirely on a disputed literary title — the "Kingdom of Redonda" is a tongue-in-cheek honorary realm passed between British authors since the 1880s, with M.P. Shiel, John Gawsworth, and Jon Wynne-Tyson among its self-proclaimed monarchs. These pieces are fantasy issues with no legal tender standing anywhere.
