Obverse description Purple on multicolour underprint, with the face dominated by a classical allegorical vignette at left in which two female figures wearing wheat laurel wreaths are rendered in fine intaglio engraving. The denomination numeral and bilingual bank title are set within an ornate guilloche border framework. A red SPECIMEN overprint is applied diagonally across the face.

Reverse description Printed in orange, the reverse is centred on the Nicaraguan Coat of Arms — a circular vignette enclosing an equilateral triangle with five volcanoes above the sea and a rising sun, surrounded by the legend REPÚBLICA DE NICARAGUA / AMERICA CENTRAL. Large denomination numerals "50" appear at left and right within elaborate guilloche panels, with CINCUENTA CÓRDOBAS lettered in bold across the lower centre.
