| Reverse description | Three equestrians depicted in dynamic procession across the central field, the central rider bearing aloft a colored flag of the Arab Revolt rendered in applied enamel. The scene evokes the military campaign of 1916 and is rendered in high relief. A bold Latin legend arcs across the upper periphery commemorating the centenary of the revolt. |

Issued to mark the centennial of the 1916 Arab Revolt, in which Sharif Hussein bin Ali of Mecca launched an uprising against Ottoman rule with direct British backing — coordination managed largely through the Arab Bureau in Cairo, with T.E. Lawrence among its operatives in the field. The Hashemite dynasty that Hussein founded remains the ruling house of Jordan today, which is precisely why the Central Bank chose this anniversary for a commemorative of this weight and fineness.
