附加信息

Andorra had no formal coinage tradition of its own until the 1960s, when a series of collector-oriented silver issues appeared under the authority of the co-princes — a constitutional arrangement dating to 1278 that places joint sovereignty in the Bishop of Urgell and the French head of state simultaneously. Napoleon I held that French co-princeship from 1806, making him technically one of Andorra's rulers, which is the sole basis for his appearance on this coin nearly 150 years after his death.

The X# prefix in Krause's catalog designates non-circulating issues. This piece never passed through Andorran commerce.
