| 表面の説明 | Central field features the traditional emblem of Qatar depicting a dhow (sailing vessel) navigating stylized waves beside an island with two palm trees. The Arabic legend naming the State of Qatar arcs along the upper periphery, with the dual-calendar date (Hijri and Gregorian) inscribed above the central device. Qatar's modern coinage series was introduced following the country's monetary separation from Bahrain in 1973, when the Qatar and Dubai Riyal gave way to the independent Qatari Riyal. The 50 dirham denomination has remained structurally unchanged across successive issues, with Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani having come to power in 1995 after deposing his own father, Sheikh Khalifa, in a bloodless coup while the elder was vacationing in Geneva.
The 2000–2003 date range on KM#9 places production squarely within the period of Qatar's early LNG export boom, when the state was rapidly accumulating the sovereign wealth that would later reshape global finance.
