| Opmerkingen |
The 2002 series marked a significant security upgrade for Fijian paper currency, with De La Rue introducing the wide segmented foil thread — a feature then being rolled out across several Commonwealth Pacific issuers simultaneously. The "RBF" repeat within the thread allowed quick visual authentication without specialist equipment, a practical consideration for a tourism-heavy economy where currency passed through many hands unfamiliar with local notes.
Pick 108 is the highest denomination of its series. High-value notes in Fiji's circulation have historically shown low survival rates in collectible grades due to the humid tropical climate, which accelerates paper degradation at the folds.
