Fantasy notes — privately produced novelty items with no monetary authority behind them — occupy a contested space in numismatics. Some collectors pursue them seriously; catalogue houses differ on whether to list them at all. This one, issued under the fiction of an "Aldabra Island Fantasy Bank," uses polymer substrate to lend a veneer of official credibility. Aldabra is a UNESCO World Heritage atoll administered by the Seychelles; no such bank exists or has ever existed there.
