Opmerkingen

The P#61 series was introduced following the Central Bank of the Bahamas Act of 1974, which established the institution as sole issuing authority — but notes of this design denomination weren't issued in meaningful volume until the 1990s revision cycle. At fifty dollars, this sits at the top of regular Bahamian circulation, making it the note most likely to encounter substitution fraud; the single watermark security feature is notably modest for a high-value issue of its period, well behind contemporaries from comparable Caribbean jurisdictions.

De La Rue's involvement in Bahamian currency printing dates to independence in 1973 and remained uninterrupted through this series.
