The national coat of arms with the Bird of Paradise appears to the upper left, flanked by two signature panels — one for the Governor and one for the Secretary, Department of Finance. | Opmerkingen |
The 50 Kina was the highest denomination in regular circulation when this series was current, reflecting the kina's relative stability during the late 1980s before inflation pressures in the 1990s pushed demand for higher values. Note Printing Australia — the Reserve Bank of Australia's security printing arm in Melbourne — produced a significant share of Pacific island currency during this period, largely on geographic and logistical grounds.
Pick 11 carries only a watermark as its listed security feature, modest by the standards even of its time. Later issues in the series added more layers, making this iteration a transitional piece in the denomination's printing history.
