Opmerkingen

The print date of 30 April 1945 is striking: that is the day Adolf Hitler died in Berlin, and just days before Norway's liberation on 8 May. Norges Bank had been preparing replacement currency well in advance of liberation — the occupation-era notes issued under German control needed to be retired quickly, and having plates and stock ready was a deliberate policy. The P#37 series was issued against that backdrop, though it circulated for nearly two decades afterward.

The progressive addition of a security thread — visible in the split between the 1973 and 1974 dated signatures of Wold & Ødegaard — is one of the more useful dating markers in Norwegian postwar paper money collecting.
