Printed in Nazi Germany by the Reichsdruckerei — the official Reich printing office responsible for German banknotes and government documents — this note reflects the pragmatic economic relationship between Turkey and wartime Germany that persisted well into the early 1940s. Turkey maintained official neutrality throughout the war, but existing trade agreements and technical contracts meant German printers continued fulfilling Turkish currency orders even as the conflict intensified around them.
The Reichsdruckerei connection makes the printing history more interesting than the note itself, which was a low-denomination issue with unremarkable circulation life.
