| Opmerkingen |
Zambia's 2024 banknote family introduced Durasafe® — a hybrid substrate developed by Landqart that bonds a polymer core between two outer layers of cotton paper, giving the note tactile properties closer to traditional paper while retaining the durability advantages of polymer. It's a relatively recent commercial product, and Zambia is among the earlier African adopters of it at the national currency level.
The TBB reference suggests this is catalogued in the new series following Zambia's 2022 rebasing, when the kwacha was redenominated at 1:1 but with entirely redesigned notes replacing the previous family.
