Reverse description Central motif depicts the Nuh Peyğəmbər Türbəsi (Tomb of the Prophet Noah), a distinctive stepped pyramidal mausoleum with ornate arched niches and decorative tilework, rendered in detailed relief. Behind and surrounding the tomb is an outline map of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in the field. The inscription 'NUH PEYĞƏMBƏR TÜRBƏSİ' arcs along the upper portion of the coin in the field, serving as the sole legend on this face.

Additional information

Nakhchivan occupies a peculiar constitutional position — an autonomous republic of Azerbaijan physically separated from it by Armenian territory, with its own parliament and a degree of administrative independence unusual even by post-Soviet standards. This coin was issued under that autonomous authority rather than the central Azerbaijani government, which alone makes it an oddity in modern numismatics. Circulating coinage from Nakhchivan is rarely encountered outside the region.
