Opmerkingen

The Democratic Republic of Vietnam began issuing its own currency — the đồng — in 1946, just months after Ho Chi Minh's government declared independence. These early Tài chính phiếu (finance notes) were produced under wartime conditions during the First Indochina War, with French forces actively contesting control of the north. Printing infrastructure was improvised and dispersed; notes from this period were often produced in multiple locations using different paper stocks, which accounts for the significant variation in color saturation and print registration found across surviving examples of this series.

Pick 50 falls within the second major emission, dated 1949–1950, when the Việt Minh administration was consolidating fiscal control in liberated zones. Many notes from this issue were printed in limited runs and circulated only regionally.
