备注

Sudan's Currency Board was established specifically to manage the transition away from the Egyptian pound following independence in January 1956 — this note belongs to the first sovereign issue, printed before a central bank even existed. De La Rue handled the entire series, as they did for many former British territories navigating the same institutional gap between colonial currency arrangements and full monetary independence.

The P#2A designation indicates an early signature variety. Later printings under the same board show subtle paper and shade differences that make variety attribution genuinely tricky without direct comparison.
