The Seal Type 4 designation marks a bureaucratic transition rather than a design change — the updated BSP seal was introduced progressively across denominations as existing stocks ran down, meaning this note coexisted in circulation with its Type 3 predecessor for some time. Three distinct signature combinations span the issue period, reflecting the presidential and central bank governor pairings across the Aquino and early Ramos administrations.
Printed entirely in-house at the Security Plant Complex — BSP's own facility, which had been producing Philippine currency since 1978 — this note carries no foreign printer involvement, an arrangement the Bangko Sentral had deliberately pursued to reduce dependence on overseas security printers.
