This series spans a significant transition in Irish note production: earlier dates were printed by De La Rue in London, while later issues shifted to the Central Bank's own Dublin printing works, which became operational in 1974. The two printings are distinguishable by subtle differences in ink density and paper feel, though the design remained consistent throughout.
Three signature combinations appear across the run. T.K. Whitaker — the economist who had authored the 1958 Programme for Economic Expansion — signed first as Secretary of the Department of Finance, then returned as Central Bank Governor, making him the only individual to appear in both signatory positions across this series.
