| 裏面の説明 | A central vignette in intaglio illustrates a group of workers engaged in a traditional coffee harvest (corte de café), set against a backdrop of trees and foliage. The scene is framed by ornate guilloche border panels in terracotta and red tones, with the numeral 50 appearing in the upper right and lower left corners. The denomination legend is printed in bold letterpress along the lower margin. |

BA International — the renamed successor to British American Bank Note Company — printed this series during a period when Guatemala was transitioning out of decades of military governance toward elected civilian rule. The 50 Quetzal denomination has historically been the workhorse of larger commercial transactions in Guatemala, and the P#84 series remained in active circulation well into the 1990s before polymer and redesigned issues began displacing paper series across the region.
BA International closed its doors in 2012, making any documentation of their Guatemalan contracts increasingly difficult to trace through surviving production records.
