Obverse description Printed in blue intaglio with red text and black serial numbers, the note presents elephant columns flanking both vertical margins, with allegorical reclining female figures along the lower border — an ox at lower left and a tiger at lower right. A ribbon vignette at the top center carries decree inscriptions, beneath which the issuer name and multilingual denomination legends appear in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Urdu, English, and French. The engraver's and designers' credits — A. BRAMTOT ET G. DUVAL FEC. and CH. WULLSCHLEGER SC. — are inscribed in the lower margin.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in blue with a red-text overlay, centered on a large circular guilloche rosette set within a fine guilloche underprint. The background is composed of a dense repetitive pattern formed by the issuer name, while corner cartouches carry the value numerals and script abbreviations for rupee in Tamil and Urdu. Denomination and promise-to-pay legends are rendered entirely in Tamil, Urdu, and Telugu scripts arranged around the central rosette.
