Opmerkingen

By 1964, Indonesia's inflation was accelerating sharply under Sukarno's Guided Economy, and low-denomination sen notes were already losing practical purchasing power almost as fast as they could be printed. The 50 sen denomination was effectively obsolete within a few years of issue — the 1965 monetary reform, which replaced 1,000 old rupiah with 1 new rupiah, wiped out the entire sen series entirely.

Percetakan Kebayoran was the government's own printing facility, brought into service specifically to reduce Indonesia's dependence on foreign printers. Domestic production of this kind was unusual for a country at this stage of central banking development in Southeast Asia.
