| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a vignette of the historic Bagha Mosque (বাঘা মসজিদ), situated at Bagha approximately 40 kilometres southeast of Rajshahi, rendered in detailed intaglio line work that captures its multi-domed terracotta-decorated facade. The inscription 'BANGLADESH BANK FIFTY TAKA' appears in English, accompanied by the equivalent Bengali text. A multicolour guilloche underprint fills the background field around the architectural illustration. |

| Opmerkingen |
Bangladesh established its own security printing facility in Gazipur in 1988, ending decades of dependence on foreign presses — primarily the British American Banknote Company and later Thomas De La Rue — that had handled Bangladeshi currency since independence in 1971. This 1999 note was among the earlier issues to be produced entirely in-country, and the shift in print quality relative to the earlier De La Rue-produced series is detectable under close inspection.
Watermark-only security is notably sparse for a denomination of this value by late 1990s international standards, when most comparable issuers had moved to security threads and color-shifting ink.
