| 表面の説明 | The national arms of Vanuatu occupy the central field, depicting a Melanesian warrior in traditional dress standing before a curved boar's tusk. The date appears above the arms, while the national motto scroll inscribed LONG GOD YUMI STANAP is positioned below. The legend RIPABLIK BLONG VANUATU arcs along the upper periphery, with the Pobjoy Mint privy mark (PM) to the right. |

Vanuatu has made something of a commercial enterprise out of issuing silver collector pieces bearing the likenesses of foreign heads of state — a practice that generates export revenue while carrying no political weight domestically. This piece was struck in 2009, the year of Obama's first inauguration, and was almost certainly produced by a European contract mint rather than any facility in Port Vila, which has no minting infrastructure of its own.
These issues are World Mint-style numismatic products aimed squarely at the souvenir and novelty collector market, not at circulation.
