| Opmerkingen |
This note predates the hyperinflationary collapse that most collectors associate with Zimbabwe, but it was already a product of severe economic stress. By 2001, Zimbabwe's commercial farming seizures had gutted agricultural export revenue and triggered the first serious foreign currency shortages. A 500 dollar denomination that would have been substantial in 1995 was by 2003 barely adequate for everyday transactions.
Pick 11 is frequently overlooked in favor of the later redenomination series, which means decent circulated examples are underpriced relative to their historical position at the precise moment the economy began its terminal slide.
