| 表面の説明 | The obverse is dominated by the denomination numeral "$500" in the upper left and lower right corners against a multicolour guilloche underprint in shades of mauve, green, and ochre. At centre, the Bank of Guyana coat of arms appears above two facsimile signatures — those of the Governor and the Minister of Finance — with the bold intaglio lettering "FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS" across the middle. To the right, a vignette presents a map of Guyana with regional detail, while the serial number appears twice in red on the left margin. |

The Bank of Guyana's 500 Dollar denomination was introduced as the highest value in the series, reflecting the inflationary pressure that had eroded purchasing power through the late 1980s and early 1990s — a period during which Guyana underwent painful IMF-backed structural adjustment that effectively devalued the Guyanese dollar against regional currencies. De La Rue's involvement with Guyanese currency dates back to independence-era issues, and the relationship remained unbroken through successive redesigns.
P#32 is a relatively short-lived type, superseded as higher denominations became practical necessities.
