Texas has not issued its own currency since the Republic of Texas collapsed its monetary system ahead of annexation in 1846 — there is no such thing as a 2024 Texas state banknote, polymer or otherwise. The United States federal monetary system does not permit individual states to issue legal tender currency, and no such authorization has been granted or proposed. This item, whatever it is, is not a banknote in any meaningful numismatic sense.
