| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Kiribati occupies the central field, depicting a frigate bird in flight above a rising sun over ocean waves, all within a heraldic shield. The arms are set against a background of multiple horizontal wave-like lines evoking the island nation's Pacific Ocean setting.
