| Obverse description | Large effigy of an African woman facing left, her hair elaborately braided and gathered at the nape of the neck in a traditional style, rendered in high relief. The portrait fills most of the field, conveying a strong sculptural presence. The legend BANQUE DES ETATS DE L'AFRIQUE CENTRALE is inscribed in the right field, running vertically in multiple lines. The coin features a distinctive decagonal (ten-sided) inner raised border set within the round flan. |
