| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed in brown, pink, and light blue tones, the obverse carries an intaglio portrait vignette of Ľudovít Štúr, the Slovak linguist and national revivalist, occupying the right-centre of the note against a fine guilloche underprint. The large numeral '500' appears to the upper right, with the vertical inscription 'PÄŤSTO SLOVENSKÝCH KORÚN' running along the left side. A windowed security thread is embedded diagonally across the note, and the engravers' credits appear in small lettering at the lower portion of the vignette. |

| Opmerkingen |
Slovakia's 500 Koruna series commissioned from Thomas De La Rue represents an interesting transitional moment — the newly independent republic, established in January 1993, needed a credible currency fast, and outsourcing to one of the world's most established security printers was the pragmatic solution while domestic printing infrastructure caught up. Bubák handled the design; the intaglio engraving went to Václav Fajt, a Czech engraver whose involvement across the early Slovak series reflects the shared technical workforce inherited from the Czechoslovak period.
Pick 27 is the 1996 dated issue within this denomination's run, which saw multiple signature varieties.
